The University of Nottingham (informally Nottingham University) is a public research university in Nottingham, United Kingdom. It was founded as University College, Nottingham in 1881, and received its Royal Charter in 1948. Today, it has award-winning branch campuses in Ningbo, China and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
